About me
Irene Soteres is an educator and leader with over two decades of teaching experience. A native of Atlanta, she holds a BA in Education from Oglethorpe University and an M.Ed from Georgia State University. Irene is fluent in English and Greek. Presently, Irene teaches fifth grade at the Atlanta International School, where she is known as a reflective, progressive professional committed to delivering a balanced, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Alongside her classroom teaching, she serves as the coordinator for the Heritage Language and Language Club Programs, leading a team of 10 teachers and over 70 students. Throughout her career, Irene has focused on designing authentic, inquiry-driven experiences for students. She has previously presented to fellow educators on integrating concept-based learning within the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) classroom.
